Activating RUVPN with PPTP

 

The next step in configuring RUVPN with PPTP is activating the feature. Activating RUVPN with PPTP adds the wg_pptp service icon to the Services Arena, which sets default properties for PPTP connections and the traffic flowing to and from them. The wg_pptp service rarely requires modification, and WatchGuard recommends leaving it in its default settings.

 

From Policy Manager:

  1. Select Network => Remote User. Click the PPTP tab.
  2. Enable the checkbox marked Activate Remote User.
  3. If necessary, enable the checkbox marked Enable Drop from 128-bit to 40-bit.
    In general, this checkbox is used only by international customers.
