Start a Trial

Before you begin, make sure that you have a WatchGuard account. To create an account, go to https://accountmanager.cloud.watchguard.com/create-account.

A tier-1 Service Provider account can allocate inventory for delegated tier-1 Subscriber accounts. They can also start a trial for a tier-1 Subscriber account and allocate inventory from the trial product.

To start a trial, from a Subscriber account:

  1. Log in to your WatchGuard Cloud account at cloud.watchguard.com.
  2. Select Administration > Trials.
  3. Next to the product you want to try, enable the Start a Trial toggle.
The Add Trial dialog box opens.

  1. From the Product list, select the product you want to evaluate.
  2. If this is a trial for an endpoint security product, from the list of modules, select the check box for each endpoint security module you want to evaluate.
  3. Click Add.

After you start a trial, it can take up to 2 minutes for access to the product to be available. The number of users or endpoints available with a trial is 250. For Endpoint Security, the number of endpoints included in the trial depends is different when there is an existing product.

For Endpoint Security trials:

  • If the account has EDR Core (Total Security Suite) with fewer than 250 endpoints, then the trial includes a maximum of 250 endpoints.
  • If the account has EDR Core (Total Security Suite) with more than 250 endpoints, then the trial includes a maximum number of endpoints that matches the Total Security Suite license.
  • If the account has an existing Endpoint Security product such as WatchGuard EDR for fewer than 250 endpoints, then the trial includes a maximum of 250 endpoints.
  • If the account has an existing Endpoint Security product such as WatchGuard EPDR for more than 250 endpoints, then the trial includes a maximum number of endpoints that matches the product license.

For example, if the existing license has 300 endpoints, then the trial license includes 300 endpoints. The trial does not add endpoints to the total number of endpoints in the product license. If the existing license is unlimited, then the trial license includes unlimited endpoints. A restart is required on the endpoints to update to the trial product. For more information on trial parameters in WatchGuard Cloud, go to About Trials in WatchGuard Cloud.

For ThreatSync+ NDR trials, customers can have up to two unique networked devices (workstation, mobile, IP phone, server, camera, or other IOT device) per licensed user. ThreatSync+ NDR will monitor networked devices up to two times the number of users in the license. For example, if your trial license is for 250 users, ThreatSync+ NDR will only monitor network traffic for up to 500 unique devices.
