Configure an RMA Replacement with RapidDeploy from the Website
When you exchange a Firebox for an RMA replacement Firebox of the same model, WatchGuard Customer Care ships the replacement Firebox to you, and transfers the licenses from the original Firebox serial number to the new Firebox serial number. All the features that were licensed to the original Firebox are transferred to the replacement Firebox.
For more information about RMA replacement, see RMA Frequently Asked Questions in the Knowledge Base.
To configure a replacement Firebox, you can use the saved configuration file from the original Firebox as the RapidDeploy file for the RMA replacement Firebox.
Locate a saved configuration file from your original Firebox. By default, Policy Manager saves the configuration file to the My Documents\My WatchGuard\configs directory.
For instructions to use Policy Manager to save the configuration to a local file, see Save the Configuration File.
Use one of these methods to upload the configuration file for RapidDeploy.
- Upload a file for a single Firebox to the Product Details page for the replacement Firebox.
For more information, see Upload a Configuration File for RapidDeploy.
- Upload a file to RapidDeploy Configuration Manager and assign it to the replacement Firebox. If you previously uploaded a RapidDeploy file for the original Firebox, you can assign that file to the replacement Firebox.
For more information, see Use RapidDeploy Configuration Manager.
After you upload the RapidDeploy configuration file for the replacement Firebox, connect the replacement Firebox.
For more information, see Connect the Firebox.
When the replacement Firebox is powered on with factory-default settings, it automatically tries to contact WatchGuard to download the RapidDeploy configuration file, the feature key, and the Firebox passphrases.
If the original Firebox was managed by a WatchGuard Management Server, you must use RapidDeploy from the Management Server and the WatchGuard Deployment Center to configure the replacement Firebox. For more information, see Configure an RMA Replacement with RapidDeploy from the Management Server.
