Primary Objective

This position reports to the director channel marketing/marketing communication in Seattle and is responsible for all WatchGuard Channel Marketing activities in EMEA. Channel Marketing is a key element of WatchGuard's Sales and Marketing organization and there is an increasing amount of focus on the value of Channel Marketing, making this a highly visible and important role in the organization.

Scope of Responsibilities

The primary functions of the role are

  • Define and implement WatchGuard's SMB channel strategy to maximize channel revenues.
  • Effectively communicate WatchGuard's proposition, USPs, value to/through the channel.
  • Leverage market intelligence and all centralized corporate and global channel marketing resources to tailor and deliver channel marketing plans and partner programs in support of sales goals.
  • Meet with WatchGuard channel managers and partners and understand their important issues and needs, to ensure that their activities are coordinated with WatchGuard's core direction.
  • Create programs and marketing tools to motivate channel to sell WatchGuard products and create programs that seek and earn the mind-share of channel partner.
  • Work with product management and corporate marketing to ensure that the products and marcom deliverables will help the channel to drive revenue growth.
  • Effectively represent EMEA at Corporate and liaise with the management groups to ensure that the Region receives the appropriate focus and resources.
  • Successful management of events, seminars etc.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, Certifications/ Licenses, Competencies

This person will have strong management skills to ensure that direct marketing promotions/campaigns are successfully driven from start to finish, and that the EMEA resources are deployed and measured effectively. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Professional marketer with hands-on EMEA experience in the IT/Telecom or Security market.
  • BA/BS degree
  • 5+ years experience in a channel marketing management role.
  • Experience developing direct marketing and lead generation programs, with in depth knowledge of on-line and email marketing.
  • Experience developing and implementing field marketing plans that include measurements of success.
  • Strong project and people management skills, able to build respect and trust among the channel community.
  • Enjoys working in a fast paced an d unstructured environment
  • Ability to work with remote teams across multiple time-zones
  • Experience with database management and CRM systems.
  • Proven effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self Motivated and results-driven, with a track record of success in a Sales-oriented, channel marketing environment.
  • Comfortable with ownership and accountability.
  • Fluent in English. Additional language skills will be a definite advantage for candidates.
